Canto II: Mercy - 2 weeks after launching, The Armstrong stumbles upon a Murin vessel attempting to send terminally ill people aboard a Vrill hive in an effort to try to infect the hive with the diseases.  Col. Cross and Cmdr. Sullivan disagree on how to handle the dying patients after the Armstrong destroys the hive.  Elsewhere, Capt McGregor’s mean streak begins to rear its ugly head and Lauren has an ugly argument with Bruce.

Canto III: Missouri - In the wake of the Armstrong’s first engagement, the Vrill have sent two hives to intercept the Armstrong before the ship can enter Vrill space.  Not seasoned or ready to handle two hives at once, the Armstrong is joined by the Missouri.  Under the command of Commodore Willis Sullivan, the Missouri is ordered to create a diversion and allow the Armstrong to get by the Vrill sentry ships.  McGregor must decide if he should ignore his orders, or leave the Missouri to be decimated by two hives.  Elsewhere, Hinkley deals with the fallout of a minor indiscretion, Lauren tends to her wounds before returning to work, and Capt Yen has doubts about Well’s loyalty after an encounter with a masked warrior woman.

Canto IV: Acceptable Loss - As a last resort in a battle gone wrong, a team of marines led by Col. Cross is sent on a mission aboard a Vrill hive. Before the mission can be completed, the Hive detects the intruders and then the Armstrong and begins an attack. Darius attempts to leave the marines behind in order to retreat forcing McGregor's hand. Meanwhile, at Dark Ops HQ, Dr. William Robinson finds reason to believe that Adm. Wells might be up to something….and finds himself in trouble as a result of what he knows.

Canto V: The Debts That We Owe - The Armstrong crew is joined by Dr. Robinson, who with the help of Lauren and her medical team must race against time to find an antidote to Vrill venom and save the life of a fallen comrade. Elsewhere, Col. Arlington deals with the frustration of 'baby sitting duty' of Arielle Robinson and two hired assassins manage to infiltrate the Armstrong to ‘neutralize’ the threat Robinson poses to Wells.
